Classroom Setup
A short checklist so interpretation stays reliable from the first minute of class.

Teacher device
- Laptop or Chromebook with a modern browser (Chrome or Edge recommended).
- Stable power — keep the teacher laptop plugged in during class.
- Microphone ready: built-in, USB, clip-on, or Bluetooth (pair before class).
Student devices
- Phones, tablets, or Chromebooks with a browser — no app install required.
- Headphones help students hear their language without distracting neighbors.
- Students only need the join page URL and the session code.
Network
- Prefer school Wi‑Fi with enough capacity for every student phone.
- Avoid captive portals that interrupt the session mid-class.
- If the network is congested, prioritize the teacher device on a wired or staff SSID when possible.
Front of room (optional)
- Project or write the join link and six-character session code so students can enter it quickly.
- Students follow on their own phones or laptops — a room display is not required.
- If you project anything, keep the code large enough to read from the back of the room.
Before the bell
- Sign in and start the session early; write the join code on the board.
- Ask students to join and confirm they see “waiting” or live captions.
- Do a 10-second mic check — speak a sentence and verify one student language.
